Welcome!
Frontrunners & Frontwalkers Phoenix is a running and walking club for the LGBTQ+ community and allies having an interest in health and well-being through staying active and coming together with social events. We are a local chapter of International Front Runners, an informal network of LGBTQ+ running groups around the world. Membership is open to everyone without regard to ability, ethnicity, gender, or sexual orientation. Join us for our weekly runs and walks!
Frontrunners & Frontwalkers Phoenix has a long and exciting history. We started our club in the Phoenix Metropolitan area in 1999 with three runners who came together to run once every two weeks. Since then, we have grown substantially and currently have three running and walking activities every week.
Frontrunners & Frontwalkers Phoenix is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organization run by a Board of Directors elected by our Members. We are a member of International Front Runners, a consortium of over one-hundred Frontrunner chapters worldwide. Being an IFR member greatly expands our visibility and gives members access to a global network of gay-identified running organizations. We are also a member of Road Runners Club of America who issues our insurance and provides us with governing and running resources.
Running
Join us for our weekly run on Tuesdays, Thursdays evenings and on Saturday mornings for runs between 3-6 miles. We welcome people of all running abilities. Visit our Run Walk page to learn more.

Walkers of all ages and abilities meet on Tuesdays, Thursdays evenings and on Saturday mornings for walks between 2-3 miles. Visit our Run Walk page to learn more.

Membership
There is no cost to join us for our running and walking activities. If do you plan on joining us on our weekly runs & walks on a regular basis, please fill out the Frontrunners & Frontwalkers Phoenix Membership Form & Participation Waiver here.
We do welcome and appreciate individual donations in any amount. Supporting our club helps us with the purchasing of water for Saturdays, subsidizing club events, volunteering and the upkeep of newsletter and website requirements. Your contribution matters.

Unity Run for Pride Month
The Unity Run is a monthly run/walk/hike partnering with local running groups around the Phoenix area including Latinos Run, Black Men Run, Phoenix Frontrunners and Walkers, Black Girls Run, and Native Women Running, and sponsored by Tortoise and Hare Sports
We run for joy, fitness, diversity, equity, inclusion, mental health, and the community.
On this day, we unite as one global running community. We stand together to show the world the power of running.
The Pride month Unity Run is back, Sunday June 2 at North Mountain at 6:30am
Upcoming Changes to our Running Schedule
As we are moving into summer months, we’ve decided to make some changes to make it easier for travel, for traffic and to help with the high summer temperatures.
Beginning in May, our evening runs on Tuesdays and Thursdays will start 30 minutes later, at 6:30 PM. This is a move we traditionally do every year as the temperatures rise.
In addition, we're diversifying our Thursday runs to explore various areas of the Valley, aiming to engage more of our community. Starting in May, on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of each month, we'll be relocating to different destinations. The schedule is as follows:
1st & 3rd Thursday
We will be in Tempe, AZ. We meet at the Tempe Beach Park, 250 W Rio Salado Pkwy Tempe, AZ 85281
2nd Thursday
We will be in Peoria, AZ. We meet at Rio Vista Park, 8866 W Thunderbird Rd, Peoria, AZ 85381
4th Thursday
We will be in Scottsdale, AZ. We meet at Indian School Park, 4289 Hayden Rd, Scottsdale, AZ 85251

Aunt Rita's AIDS Walk & Run -April 2024
FRFWPHX representing at the Aunt Rita's 2024 AIDS Walk Arizona & 5K. A beautiful morning and a meaningful cause.
