Our club had quite the turn out at this year's Pride Run Phoenix in both runners and volunteers!
Over twenty members participated in the various runs. And this year we also ran a FRFWPHX booth at the at the Pride Run Phoenix Celebration Party and Health & Wellness Expo at Stacey's on Melrose. A special thanks to Dan Shabra for providing the tables, tent and complimentary booth space.
Rock 'n' Roll Las Vegas, February 2022
Congrats to our FRFWPHX members Kristen Johnson & Greg Harvey for participating and completing the 2022 Rock 'n' Roll Las Vegas.
Las Vegas is one of the Rock 'n' Roll Series most popular events. Over 30,000 runners competed in the 5K, 10K & half marathon, with 20,000 in the half marathon alone.
FRFWPHX hit it out of the ballpark with our fundraising!!
Our first ever team event at the Aunt Rita's AIDS Walk Arizona was a giant success! Over 15 Frontrunners & Frontwalkers Phoenix members were on hand to help raise funds for people living with HIV.
Our initial team goal of reaching $1000 was subsequently raised to $2500. We ended raising over $8,000 total. FRFWPHX ended being the second highest fundraising group behind the sponsors themselves. Overall, nearly a quarter million dollars was raised for the charity.
Frontrunners & Frontwalkers Phoenix wants to thank all of those who participated and all those who gave so generously for such an important cause.
A very special shout out goes to our member "Shaggy", Scott Greenberg, who raised the lion-share of our funds. He was the third highest individual fundraiser for the whole event.
Also, congratulations to our member Kristen who
took a silver medal for overall female in the 5K run. Good Job!
Rock 'n' Roll Arizona, January 2022
This January FRFWPHX not only had a number of runners in the Rock 'n' Roll Arizona marathons, but we also sponsored a water station along the half marathon course.
Special thanks to Kristen Johnson for spearheading our successful party water station. And thank you to all the volunteers, many of whom got up before dawn to help out.
And a big congrats to FRFWPHX members Trent, Billy, Jesse and Greg who participated in the runs.
Hot Chocolate 15k/5k Phoenix 2021
On a chilly December morning, FRFW Phoenix members, Kristen Johnson & Greg Harvey braved the elements and ran the 15k in the Phoenix Hot Chocolate 15k/5k Runs.
Laveen AZ Turkey Trot, Thanksgiving 2021
On a chilly Thanksgiving morning, FRFW Phoenix members, Jaimes Shonkwiler, Jim Rutkowski, Greg Harvey and Kristen Johnson, participated in the 2021Laveen Turkey Trot 5K & 10K. Congratulations to the medal winners!
46th Annual 3TV Phoenix 10k & Half Marathon
Good job to FRFW Phoenix members Chris Fain, Greg Harvey and Trent Taylor who participated in the 46th Annual 3TV Phoenix 5K, 0K & Half Marathon on Sunday November 14.

Mark and Winston welcomed members to their Phoenix home for a poolside Oktoberfest Biergarten potluck brunch Traditional German offerings including sausages and beer. Thanks Mark & Winston for hosting!
Javelina Jundred 2021
As many of you know, we were chosen by Aravaipa Running to be their charity of choice this year at their annual Javelina Jundred 2021 on October 31. This 100 mile/100 kilometer run featured over 1000 runners competing on a 20 mile loop trail in the McDowell Mountain Regional Park for over 30 hours.
Our very own runners, Chris Fain, Kristen Johnson, Greg Fay and Trent Taylor along with Geoffrey Roest from Flagstaff Frontrunners, competed in the nighttime Jackass Night Trail Run, a single trip around the 20 mile loop decked out in Halloween costumes. Congratulations to Trent Taylor and Geoffery Roest for placing 3rd & 4th overall respectively.
And our members Doug Mach, Wes Giron, Denise Frost, Gina Frost and Greg Harvey volunteered their time at the Javelina Jundred Base Camp.
For those looking for more socializing or perhaps adding a few extra miles to their weekly runs, we have been invited to join local business Tortoise & Hare Sports on their Sunday RUNday. They meet every Sunday at 6am at Tortoise & Hare Sports for 3+ mile run. Their address is 17570 N 75th Ave Glendale, AZ. All abilities are welcome from, you guessed it, tortoise to hare.
